COMMON QUERIES

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

I don't offer sliding scale rate. The reason for this is that when you see a psychologist, the intention is not to see you for long drawn out periods of time. We offer time limited interventions, usually starting with an agreement of 10. We then review and see if any further session are needed. The point is to get the problem solvesd so that you don't have to come back. As a result, sliding scales can be a real challenge towards the viability of running a private practice.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Each 1 to 1 session is a 50 minute hour. That last 10 minutes is for note writing and any admin. All therapy sessions are currently offered by Zoom. Assessment must usually take place in person.

ARE YOU A LEGIT PSYCHOLOGIST?

I am. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I am chartered with, and an affiliate fellow of, the British Psychological Society, a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology and  I am the Chair Section of Sexualities. I also sit on the Practice Guidelines Review Board and the Mental Capacity Advisory Group. I am a professional member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers and a professional member of the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee. I'm a registered data controller with the Information Commissioner's Office and fully insured to practice privately.

HOW DO I ARRANGE TO SEE YOU?

Send me a message via the contact form on this website and I will reply to you. We'll take it from there. Usually I organise a call, just ten minutes to make sure that I have the skills and expertise to match your needs. Then I'll send you my terms and conditions and if you want to go ahead you send them back to me.

I do sometimes have to run a small waiting list as my practice is very busy, but we can discuss this when I get in touch with you.
